Trauma is stored differently in the brain than other memories. EMDR helps to reprocess traumatic memories so they are less disturbing.

Trauma history can play a large role in relationship struggles. Working together to identifying triggers can be helpful in returning peace to the relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
With CBT we focus on the negative thoughts and emotions caused by the trauma. Known as talk therapy, it can be very powerful when combined with EMDR

Trauma isn't just PTSD or anxiety disorder discovered through checking symptoms off a list. Your trauma is yours. It could be due to one event that changed the way you look at the world, multiple events, or similar events that happened over a period of time. What is essential for us to discover together is what led to your trauma and how to treat it in the most effective way for you as an individual.
When you experience trauma, you can become emotionally and physically overwhelmed. You may have trouble breathing when you find yourself in a similar setting as the one where your trauma occurred, feel penned in during social occasions, or be hyper-aware of your surroundings. You may have trouble sleeping and struggle in relationships because you can't express your feelings. You may not understand them yourself.

Recovering from trauma is a process. You can't just close a bad chapter in your life and pretend it didn't happen. From your first appointment, I will help you cope with that bad chapter and help you start writing a new, healthier one. At Recovery Unleashed, I use compassionate care combined with evidence-based treatments to get to the root of your trauma and teach you how to manage your symptoms positively.

Most of my clients have a regular weekly appointment time, which I hold for them.

I require 24-hours notice for cancellations. If you are unable to attend a session, please contact me. Otherwise, you will be charged the full rate on the day of the scheduled session.
